Reopening Ceremony Invitation All villagers are invited to attend the reopening of our newly refurbished hall by His Grace the Duke of Roxburghe at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd February. Refreshments will be available afterwards. Apart from the vastly improved main hall, we now have a purpose built meeting room, toilets, kitchen, bar/servery and disabled facilities, including an access ramp from the car park at the rear. The meeting room has been fully carpeted and new tables and chairs have been purchased for both the main hall and the meeting room. The original stage has been removed and replaced with a portable modular stage. This can be reduced in size or removed entirely to suit the particular function taking place in the hall.
Forthcoming Events The committee hope to arrange a race night, a cèilidh and a taster New Age Kurling night. New Age Kurling is a fun sport based on curling and is suitable for people of all ages.
Fireworks The annual bonfire and firework display took place in November, courtesy of the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course, and was a great success. The collection that took place raised the sum of £99.25 towards the hall funds.
Hall Activities The committee is now urgently looking for new activities and possible lettings for the hall, to ensure that it is used to its full potential.
If anyone wishes to organise, or has any suggestions for, additional activities to be held in the hall or meeting room then they are asked to contact any committee member. Please remember that the hall is for the benefit of all of us who live in Heiton and in the immediately surrounding area, and it is up to us to ensure its efficient use.
